Alumni Day, and a Strong Sophomore Sign-in

Greetings Cloister Alumni!

This Saturday, February 23, is Alumni Day at Princeton University. If you are going back to Old Nassau for the event, please know that you are welcome as always to join current Cloister Inn members for brunch. Alan Aptner and his crew will have the usual faves available to one and all from 11am to 1pm.

Since the legal episode last fall, it has been a strong year at Cloister Inn. You'll be happy to know that Savannah Sachs had a problem-free semester as club president once the erroneous charges were dropped, and Public Safety even altered its protocols as a direct result of Savannah's experience. I think that's a credit to the University leadership for recognizing a need to make change and responding accordingly.

More recently, we welcomed in a full section of 85 sophomores, ensuring that Cloister will operate at peak capacity for a second straight year. Look for more details of the first semester, including stories on the dedication of the Robert K. Hornby '58 Dining Room and on Cloister's undergraduate athletic accomplishments, in the Innsider, due to arrive in your mailboxes in early March.

Despite our recent success, we know from the legal near-miss in the fall how precarious our good fortune is. If you have not donated to Cloister in this academic year, please consider an online donation to Cloister Inn using the "Support the Inn" link on the left. Monies will go toward funding our annual renovations, building our new financial assistance fund, and saving for a rainy day.

If you prefer to mail your donation, send your gift to Cloister Inn, 65 Prospect Ave, Princeton, NJ 08540. Donations made out to "Princeton Prospect Foundation - Cloister Inn Branch" are tax-deductible. (Our traditional fundraising mailer will arrive in your mailboxes in the spring.)
